And with that, the Tribunal of ADHD brings forth its fully legal new episode unto the world. While we did not have a hand in any merry pranking this April 1st, we sure do like to recap the successful ones other have perpetrated. With that, here's a rundown of the best.
04-01-2009 got off on a weird foot for the 2-3 people still following Bob's Game, as an actual gameplay demo of the first, excruciatingly fourth wall breaking minutes was leaked. How can we, your local Bob-ologists, trained to specialize in all that is Bob of Bob's Game, explain the entire demo in one animated gif? Like so:
Yes, that seems about right. In the meantime, what was originally a clever ploy to port Super Mario Bros to the Commodore 64 has now been updated with original levels and endorsed by Nintendo itself for its DS handheld. Giana Sisters DS is only available in Europe so far, but importhounds like myself have tried it and I do say we approve. As fans of retro gaming and great video game music, I present two of my favorite things in the follow preview of said game:
Fox Studios possibly attempted an April Fools Day prank that went horribly awry, as they forgot the recipients of said prank should be anyone else but themselves. Like a pirated bootleg of the word of god, comic book geeks scrambled for a leaked workprint copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine so they could officially be the first in their comic shop to moan about how Deadpool was treated. For the record, Fair Use Law does not condone piracy in any form (*wink*) and I totally called the entire Wade Wilson plot about two episodes back. To celebrate, here's how the Wolverine movie would have actually come out if we lived in a perfect world:
The crowd at Blizzard always seems to be on top of the April Fools Shenanigans and this year was no different. While Fair Use Law recognizes that filtering their entire World of Warcraft forum to read like roleplaying prose, while in turn filtering their roleplay forum to sound like an IRC warez chatroom, was the better prank, sadly it didn't make for good YouTube fodder like their other prank:
