Episode 311 - "You Never Go Portal-To-Mouth!"

Hark the triumphant prophecy spoke truth: the triceratops tribunal has been rebuilt, now with an added fourth corner of justice as Baker makes his celebratory debut for case file 3 in this 11th episode. Discussion of the week turns to Providence, Rhode Island, where some of us were forced to pay to enter the gates of (club) Hell to see an industrial rock concert that may or may not permanently injury a cast member in a cliffhangerish manner. All this and we discuss VH-1 telling us who not to date, taking Jersey Shore back from the Jersey Shore kids, NBC’s boneheaded move to kill Heroes off without the hope of a regen blood resurrection, and the passing of Dio’s torch.

The world of metal has lost its grandfather this week with the passing of Dio and his metal horns hand gesture. What's the best way to pay tribute to such a voice? With the D, of course:

Another topic near and dear to our hearts this week was the unfortunate (but not unexpected) cancellation of the Heroes televised drama broadcast serial. Not much more can be expressed but the eternal blue balls of geeks everywhere who never truly got the all out Peter/Sylar fight to end all fights on the show, so I pay tribute with a nu-metal cover of Snap's I've Got The Power:

Replacing Heroes on the schedule for NBC this fall is the Cape, a surprisingly similar superhero show that seems to play fast with costumes and special effects, something Heroes might have lacked. I want to hate it for ending my favorite show of the last 3 years, but I just can't. Here's a preview:

On the other hand, I can hate NBC's newest sitcom, "Outsource," using the hilarious premise of focusing on jobs being outsourced to India. They seemed to have created this sitcom by taking the Office, removing the comedy, and replacing it with vague racism against the entire country of India. No good can be had here, only sadness and demons:

Yes, that was bleak. I think the only way to salvage our great combined psyche is with some Breakfast with Zangrief:

And to close the shownotes for episode 311, where we were sure to take it down down down, I give you a live performance mentioned during the episode by the band Chemlab. Of course I must add some disclaimers: it's filmed from the audience by a fan, so it's not the best sound or video quality. And also the lead singer may or may not be cosplaying as a blackface Ric Flair.
